The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) was formed in 2006 to respond to Ontario’s demand to reduce electricity consumption in the province in order to provide a sustainable energy supply while at the same time responding to the negative environmental effect by the production of electricity.

In 2007 Petryna Advertising was retained to provide marketing services for all OPA CDM (Conservation Demand Management) programs. These services involved the creation and development of direct mail brochures/booklets, which incorporated energy saving product coupons. These booklets were addressed and sent to 4.1 million Ontario homes.
Bar coded coupons contained in the booklets were tracked to measure program participation. Additional services involved development of websites, including two sites with information in 16 languages, print (multi-lingual), radio and outdoor advertising, additional direct mail, in-store signage (shelf talkers), research, strategic planning and media buying. |
